A filmmaker has secured an apology from RTÉ at the High Court in settlement of defamation proceedings over comments made about her award-winning documentary, Fairytale in Kathmandu.
Neasa Ní Chianáin had sued RTÉ Commercial Enterprises Ltd and Paddy Bushe, An Coireáin, Co Kerry, arising from an interview with Mr Bushe during an episode of An Saol Ó Dheasbroadcast on RTÉ Radio na Gaeltachta on June 11th, 2009. Ms Ní Chianáin alleged she was defamed. The action was settled on terms including an apology being read in court.
