Sir Alex Ferguson has switched his attention back to Alessandro Nesta after failing to sign Rio Ferdinand, according to newspaper reports.
Terry Venables' arrival at Elland Road could have ended hopes Manchester United had of luring Ferdinand to Old Trafford, so now Nesta is back on top of Ferguson's wish list.
Lazio still owe United half of the Stg16 million fee for Jaap Stam, so United could snatch Nesta for a Stg15 miliion settlement.
