A FATHER and son have been charged with the murder of a Dublin man who was found dead in a field last year.

A FATHER and son have been charged with the murder of a Dublin man who was found dead in a field last year.

Mr Joseph Delaney (52), of Newhall, Naas, Co Kildare, and Scott Delaney (22), of Palmerstown Park, Palmerstown, Dublin, are accused of murdering Mr Mark Dwyer on December 14th last.

The body of Mr Dwyer was found bound and gagged in a field at Scribblestown Lane, Finglas, and it was stated at a previous court hearing that he was tortured before being shot.

Det Sgt Gerard McDonnell told Dublin District Court Mr Delaney jnr replied "not guilty" and Mr Delaney said "no comment" when charged yesterday morning.

Both men were already charged with falsely imprisoning Mr Dwyer at Foster Terrace, Ballybough, and were served with books of evidence yesterday. They were remanded in custody for one week with June 6th fixed for submissions on the book of evidence.
