Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation following the death of a man in a stabbing incident at a party in the city early this morning.
The victim, in his 30s, was attacked on the Anglesea Road at around 2am today. He was brought to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man and a woman in their 20s, were arrested close to the scene and taken to the Bridewell Garda Station, Cork where they are being detained under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The scene has been preserved ahead of a forensic examination and gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
