A pedestrian was killed in a road traffic incident overnight, the gardaí have reported.

A pedestrian was killed in a road traffic incident overnight, the gardaí have reported.

The incident occurred at 12.50 a.m. when a pedestrian killed in accident involving a car on the Western Road in Cork.

The 19-year-old man was struck by a car and died instantly, a garda spokeswoman said. The driver and the passenger in the car were uninjured.

In Dublin Mr Robert Ashe (35) died on arrival at Tallaght hospital after a road incident in west Dublin yesterday evening has died.
