Atlanta - Thirty-one years after the assassination of Martin Luther King jnr, his widow and children have declared the case over and said they will not seek prosecution of those behind the civil rights leader's murder.

The family said it was hoping to "cleanse and heal and move on", a day after a Tennessee jury's finding that the murder was the result of a conspiracy, not the act of a lone gunman.
