Gardaí in Co Limerick are investigating the cause of a fire which extensively damaged a factory in the town of Newcastlewest early yesterday.
Nine units of the fire service from Newcastlewest, Askeaton, Kilmallock and Limerick battled the blaze for up to eight hours at Myson Heating Controls in the Greenfield Business Park.
They were still fighting to control small pockets of fire yesterday afternoon. It is understood the alarm was first raised by a passer-by at around 4.30am.
The factory, which employs 105 people, manufactures parts for central heating systems.
