A development officer with the State training and employment authority Fás has settled her High Court action over alleged bullying at work.

Joan Collins (48), Drominmcturlough, Newcastlewest, Co Limerick, brought proceedings seeking damages against her employer for injuries and mental distress allegedly suffered due to Fás alleged negligence and breach of contract.

She alleged she was regularly and repeatedly bullied and harassed at work and was subjected to an atmosphere which caused her injury. Fás had denied the claims.

The case was due to be heard before a High Court judge yesterday and was listed to run for two weeks. Following talks between the parties, the matter was resolved.
