Everton have released French winger David Ginola.

Everton have released French winger David Ginola.

He arrived from Aston Villa in February but made just one substitute appearance under manager David Moyes - who took over from Walter Smith towards the end of the season.

Ginola (35) has left the club under the Bosman ruling.

Earlier this month he was linked with a number of other clubs including newly promoted Premiership side West Brom. Meanwhile, Andrei Kanchelskis has been released by Rangers. He spent four years with the club.

He played for Rangers 120 times in four years and scored 20 goals.

The former Everton and Manchester United player has scored more than 80 goals in his career.
