Movie lovers, rugby fanatics and music fans all have something to look forward to as Met Éireann predicts an improvement in the weather just in time for the weekend.

Rugby fans will watch Munster take on the Northampton Saints at Thomond Park tomorrow in the Heineken Cup. Gates open at 4pm and kickoff is at 6pm. A Garda cordon will be in place on various streets surrounding the ground from 3pm to 9pm. Expect heavy traffic and diversions.

Westlife, JLS, The Wanted, and Jedward all take the stage at the O2 tomorrow for the fourteenth year of the Childline charity concert. The Westlife’s Nicky Byrne will be hosting the event, and tickets have been sold out since September. Doors open at 6.30pm.

For those more interested in traditional music, the Ennis Trad Festival runs all weekend. Highlight concerts every night feature international known bands, and sessions are planned for over 20 venues. The festival also features céilís and singing classes.

The Toys 4 Big Boys exhibition at the Citywest Event Centre, which opens today, includes an airsoft range, a zombie apocalypse, archery, trampolines and a force training academy. The exhibition is open until 8pm today, and 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.

Movie lovers can take in the Cork Film Festival, running until Sunday. Screenings include films from all over Ireland, including Galway director Terry McMahon's Charlie Casanova today at 7pm and a collection of shorts tomorrow at 4pm.

Carmel Winters' B is for Baby continues the last leg of its national tour at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin this weekend, and the Lady Boys of Bangkok continue their run at the Custom House Square in Belfast. Big Maggie opens today at the Town Hall Theatre in Galway for a two week run.

Despite today's deluge, Met Éirann predicts the weather should dry up latter on this evening and tomorrow should be mostly dry, with a few occasional showers throughout the day that could get heavier in the evening. The rain should disappear early on Sunday, but the southern part of the country could still see a few showers.
