The Amsterdam Treaty is "patently incompatible" with Irish neutrality and should be rejected, Cavan-Monaghan deputy Mr Caoimhghin O Caolain (right) said.
Echoing a call by Mr Adams for the referendum on the treaty to be held separately from the vote on the talks outcome, O Caolain he said: "It would be scandalous if the Government sought to ensure the passage of this major change in Irish foreign policy and military neutrality by having a debate on the issue totally eclipsed by what would be seen as the main referendum."
