Emerald Star to cut 20 jobs
The Emerald Star cruiser company has announced the loss of 20 jobs as part of a restructuring move.
The company has been operating for over 40 years and is one of the largest operators
of boating holidays in Ireland and operates from three bases in Carrick-on-Shannon, Portumna and Belturbet.
The decision is understood to be due to the current economic climate and declining sales in Ireland.
"It is with great regret that we have had to make these tough decisions and we will be working very closely with our teams, taking into consideration all of their views and concerns," a statement from the company said.
The company currently employs 50 people.
