Dublin-based e-learning company Electric Paper has launched its Graduate Awards Programme to honour IT literacy students and their trainers around the country.

The first winner of the pilot programme, which took place from October to December 2001, was Eagle Star Insurance, who received both the "Best Graduate" and "Best Test Centre" awards.

The Electric Paper Graduate Awards programme rewards top-scoring European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) graduates and test centres to encourage the development of the IT literacy in Irish business.

"By establishing the awards, we are trying to encourage employees to improve their IT literacy standards, which will bring many benefits to their business," said Electric Paper managing director Mr Jonny Parkes.
