An unemployed Swords mechanic who was caught moving drugs twice within two weeks, to clear his drug debt, has been sentenced to eight years with the last two years suspended.

Shane Flanagan (31), of Mooretown Avenue, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of cocaine for sale or supply on April 16th, 2009, in a car park in Swords and possession of a second larger cache of cocaine valued at €212,000 at Bothar na Breena Road on May 1st, 2009.

Garda Liam Clancy told Tony McGillicuddy BL, prosecuting, that he had conducted a search of Flanagan’s car and found cocaine in the side door and under the driver’s seat.
