Dutch police have arrested eight Chinese nationals suspected of belonging to a human trafficking ring that organized the immigration attempt of 58 people who suffocated while trying to reach England.

A security source said that some of the arrested might run the ring, which transports illegal Chinese immigrants to England by way of Eastern Europe, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

Nine people have already been jailed for causing the deaths of 58 illegal Chinese immigrants in June 2000, who suffocated in the back of a sealed Dutch-registered truck after arriving in Dover from Rotterdam.
