The film Institute of Ireland will hold two in-service days for teachers to coincide with a nationwide screening for students of The Third Man, which is on the new Leaving Cert English syllabus. The first teacher training session will be held on Tuesday next in the afternoon in the Limerick Education Centre and the second will be in the Galway Education Centre on Wednesday, March 1st. The topics up for examination with Tony Tracy, senior education officer with the FII, will include the scope of film studies in the classroom; film form; film as narrative genre; film as comparative text and "reading" a scene.
