Music in the Classroom Concert Booking Form: The booking form for all concerts for Music in the Classroom during the academic year 2006 - 2007 will appear in The Irish Times on Tuesday, May 9th. Bookings are allocated on a first come, first served basis and only postal bookings will be accepted.

English for Speakers of Other Languages Conference

The forthcoming English for Speakers of Other Languages (Esol) conference, Building Skills, will explore methods and materials for improved Esol practice. It will also highlight the wider issues of Esol and launch the Esol resources on the National Adult Literacy Agency (Nala) literacy learning and tuition website, www.literacytools.ie

BSc in Physics with Astronomy and Space Science at UCD

To learn more about this new degree programme (DN033), which starts in September 2006, prospective students, along with their parents and guardians, are invited to attend an open evening in UCD. The event will provide an opportunity to attend short presentations describing the degree programme and career prospects for graduates and afterwards, to meet lecturers and researchers in an informal setting.

Humanities Festival at DCU

The faculty of humanities and social sciences at Dublin City University is hosting its first humanities festival on Thursday, May 11th from 2pm to 8pm. National Learning Network Business Skills Programme

Participants are being sought for a training programme designed to provide personalised, quality training in business studies and computer skills to people with disabilities, mental health difficulties and others who are marginalised.

Operated in Phibsboro, Dublin 9 by the National Learning Network, the training and education division of the Rehab Group, the two-year national certificate in business studies and ECDL is designed to provide participants with the skills and qualifications they need to work in a busy office environment. The course combines personalised in-centre training with on-the-job work placements.

Join in the Europe Day celebrations on May 9th

The European Commission Representation (ECR) in Ireland is inviting all students and teachers to celebrate Europe Day on Tuesday, May 9th. From 11.45am to 2.30pm students and teachers can find out more about other countries in the European Union - Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Croatia - at their embassies' stands on South King Street in Dublin 2.

The ECR will deliver a special four-page supplement to all secondary schools on Europe Day. The Irish Times will also carry a special Europe Day supplement.
