Youth Films Premiere: Four films produced by 40 young Irish people will receive their premiere at a gala screening at the Sugar Club, Dublin at 8pm on Sunday, May 29th.

The four films, made by youth groups from all over Ireland tackle everyday issues prevalent in young people's lives ranging from jealous girlfriends and teenage pregnancy to town rivalry and absent parents.

Collections-based Biology in Dublin is a new summer programme funded by Science Foundation Ireland to allow undergraduates from Ireland and abroad to work side-by-side with scientists from UCD and the Natural History Museum in life sciences research. Full funding is available for a limited number of students to attend this 10-week course, beginning on July 4th. All applications must be received by May 29th. Parenting Seminars in Dublin

HADD, the family support group for those affected by hyperactivity and Attention Deficit Disorder is holding two parenting seminars in Dublin today and tomorrow. Dr Thomas Phelan, an expert on parenting of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) will give a seminarentitled "1-2-3-Magic: Effective discipline for children 2-12" today. Tommorrow, the seminar relating to older children is "Surviving Your Adolescents: How to manage and let go of your 13 to 18-year-olds".

Limerick Institute of Technology Science Summer School

LIT Science Summer School runs from June 13th to 17th June and comprises five days of lab activities, workshops, site visit, computers, quizzes and fun science. The cost is €75 per student.

Students from outside Limerick, who wish to attend may avail of a subsidised rate for accommodation in a local student village.

Steps Explore Engineering Summer Camp

Science Technology and Engineering Programme for Schools (Steps) is running a summer camp for Transition and fifth-year students in conjunction with the University of Limerick from Monday, June 13th to Friday, June 17th in UL.

The "Explore Engineering" experience will be a comprehensive programme with students engaging in many aspects of engineering and gaining an understanding of the opportunities available in an invigorating environment.

The students will also have access to the recreational facilities at UL, including its 50-metre swimming pool.
