The Institute of Public Administration is a major publisher of books on Irish society, the public sector, management, education and local government. The publishing division produces a useful list of all the titles it currently has in print and books can be ordered by post or email. The division is based in Clonskeagh, Dublin (tel: (01) 269 7011; e-mail sales: sales@ipa.ie). The IPA also runs more than 850 training courses a year at its state-of-the-art education and training centre in Lansdowne Road, Dublin. The £4 million centre opened earlier this year. Programmes on offer include human resources management, industrial relations and organisational development. All courses are independently accredited. The institute caters mainly for those working in the public sector; however, its courses are open to all and programmes such as its bachelor of business studies are popular with students from the private sector.
