IT is hoped that teachers, principals and parents will attend a free two-day seminar next March on dealing with troublesome students. The seminar, organised by the Dublin Southside Partnership, will explore the Discipline for Learning approach developed by Adrian Smith, a former Bristol principal. The approach, now in 12 south Dublin schools, focuses on how children can be rewarded rather than punished.

Smith will conduct the seminar on Friday, March 6th, and Saturday, March 7th, in the Blackrock Education Centre. Contact Kathy Bradley, education co-ordinator - phone (01) 230 1011 or (087) 223 4518.
