Those working with older people may be interested in Advocacy and Older People in Ireland, a one-day conference organised by Age Action which will take place at Dublin Castle on Friday, November 20th. The aim of the conference is to highlight current innovative projects involving older people, to promote advocacy and to make recommendations on future policies and practices. On Thursday, November 19th, a one-day workshop in Rathgar, Dublin, on how to set up advocacy schemes with older people will be held. It will look at why advocacy is needed, who can best provide it, finding the resources for it and selecting the right kind of potential volunteer advocates.
