Budget airline EasyJet carried 1.92 million passengers in October, 17.8 per cent more than in the same month last year, according to figures released today.
EasyJet, which acquired rival no-frills airline Go last year for its valuable take-off and landing slots, said today the proportion of seats filled last month was 85.5 per cent, up from 83.8 per cent.
The carrier reports its full-year results on November 18th.
EasyJet, which carried fewer passengers in October than its rival Ryanair, unveiled its fourth continental airport base this week as Berlin Schonefeld.
Ryanair, which acquired low fares carrier Buzz earlier this year, said on Wednesday it carried 2.07 million passengers in October, up 50 per cent on last year.
However, Ryanair, Europe's biggest airline by market capitalisation, said its passenger loadings fell by five points to 84 per cent.
