Dunphy to step down as Last Word presenter

Journalist and broadcaster Eamon Dunphy is to step down as presenter of Today FM's The Last Word radio show.

Journalist and broadcaster Eamon Dunphy is to step down as presenter of Today FM's The Last Wordradio show.

Mr Dunphy has been with the station since it's inception in 1997 as Radio Ireland and is now moving on to concentrate on "a variety of other projects".

Mr Dunphy said that "he'll be sad to leave the programme", but added that "it was in great shape for the future".

Today FM chairman, Mr John McColgan, described Mr Dunphy as "a legend and great friend".

The Last Wordwill have a fresh line-up to start 2003, the station said.
