A man (58) has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to making pornographic videos of young boys and having child pornography in his apartment last year.

Mr Patrick Finbar Murphy, from Lower Beechwood Avenue, Ranelagh, admitted three counts of using a child for sexual exploitation with a camcorder, on video discs and on digital discs at addresses in Dublin and Sligo between June 1st, 1999, and October 31th, 2001.

He also pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing child pornography on October 31st, 2001. These included two magazines and computer discs with images of children.

Mr Des Zaidan BL, prosecuting, told Judge Des Hogan he wished to consult with the families of the injured parties over the next day or two and applied to adjourn the hearing of evidence in the case until that had been done.

Mr George Birmingham, SC for Mr Murphy, said he had no objection to that action being taken.

Judge Hogan adjourned the case until Tuesday, November 19th, after hearing that victim-impact reports for the victims had been ordered on a previous occasion.

Mr Zaidan said it may be the type of case whereby the exhibits may have to be shown in court and arrangements could be made if the judge so wished to see the evidence.
