US authorities have indicted a Dublin resident on charges that he emailed bomb threats to the University of Pittsburgh.

US authorities have indicted a Dublin resident on charges that he emailed bomb threats to the University of Pittsburgh.

Scottish national Adam Stuart Busby (64)has been accused of emailing bomb threats which forced the evacuation of classrooms and dormitories at the campus in February.

Busby claims to be a member of the Scottish National Liberation Army (SNLA).

Busby faces a total of 17 charges of threats against the school as well as a charge of threatening Mr Hickton and of with emailing bomb threats to Pennsylvania courthouses in June.

The announcement was made at a news conference by the FBI and the US Attorney in Pittsburgh today.

FBI special agent Gary Douglas Perdue said that sending bomb threats was a serious crime and a drain on law enforcement resources.”

More than $300,000 (€244,000) was spent by the university for response and security related to the threats, he said.
