Racing: Today's race meeting at Down Royal goes ahead following a number track inspections this morning.  But, there will be a 15-minute delay to scheduled race times.

A 10.30am inspection proved inconclusive and officials held another at midday before giving the meeting the green light.

Down Royal officials had delayed a planned 7.30am inspection until 10am but were forced to reschedule again.

Officials were concerned by the threat of frost but fog also hindered their ability to assess track conditions.

Noone said: "The meeting is on but the first race won't be off until 1.40, there will just be a slight delay."

The hurdle course is described as yielding to soft, soft in places, while the chase track is yielding to soft.

Carlisle have abandoned their meeting today due to frost.

Officials had planned to inspect the track at 8am but they brought forward that check after temperatures dropped well below freezing overnight.

Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell said: "We are off. It went to minus six overnight and there's no chance of the frost coming out."

Huntingdon will hold a 3pm inspection to determine prospects for tomorrow's meeting. The track is currently froze.
