Nearly 300 staff at a Co Donegal textiles factory are expected to lose their jobs when the firm ceases production in the autumn.

It is understood that Unifi Textured Yarns (Europe) Ltd will tomorrow explain the company's position to staff in the Letterkenny factory.

It is expected that operations at the plant will be wound down over the next two months.
