Luxembourg - The European Court of Justice threw out claims from two Finnish farm owners for government aid yesterday when it was discovered that neither lived anywhere near their properties.

One of the owners, the wife of an official in the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, lives in Bonn, Germany. The other, a nine-year-old child, inherited her farm in Finland's underdeveloped Nummi-Pusula region but has hardly set foot on the property.
