LONDON A diplomat yesterday denied smuggling a consignment of pornographic material into Britain

LONDON A diplomat yesterday denied smuggling a consignment of pornographic material into Britain. Mr Robert Coghlan (54), a father of two, of Danbury Street, Islington, first secretary at the British embassy in Tokyo, was remanded on hail until September 2th.

He pleaded not guilty to one charge under the Customs and Excise Management Act, 1979.
