Birmingham's Paul Devlin has been included in the Scotland ahead of next week's European Championship qualifying clash with Iceland.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who qualifies for Scotland through his father, has made a big impression since Birmingham's move up to the Barclaycard Premiership.

Also included in the 26-man squad are Motherwell midfielder Jamie McFadden, Celtic's Jackie McNamara, Hearts' Steven Pressley, Leicester's Callum Davidson and uncapped Russell Anderson of Aberdeen.

Everton defender David Weir was not selected having stated his intention not to play for his country again.

But Scotland boss Berti Vogts said: "I spoke to David Weir two days ago and had a very nice talk with him. I wished him and his family the best of luck - and Everton."

The German added: "It was a good talk - I have a good relationship with him."
