LOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL:LOUTH GREEN Party councillor Mark Dearey, one of the party's few success stories in the local elections, has said he will be "reflecting" on whether voters want the party to stay in Government. He acknowledged that, while there was a core Green vote, there was also concern about its performance in Government.

Speaking at the count centre in Dundalk yesterday after he secured the party’s first county council seat, he said: “There is some level of dissatisfaction with how our performance in Government has gone and our supporters can also see how we have made a difference in Government, so it’s a mixed bag and voters can see it as a mixed set of results.”

He added: “I wouldn’t like to categorise it as negative [but] people are watching with their critical faculties.”
