DCC acquisition to grow British fuel card business

Industrial holdings group DCC has purchased the fuel card business of British-based Cooke Holdings for €10 million.

Industrial holdings group DCC has purchased the fuel card business of British-based Cooke Holdings for €10 million.

Cooke Fuel Cards sells approximately 105 million litres of motor fuels per annum through fuel cards to 5,000 commercial fleet operators.

The business will be integrated with DCC Energy's existing fuel card business, Fuel Card Services Limited.

For the year ending December 31st, 2008 the adjusted profit for Cooke Fuel Cards is expected to be €2.9 million (£2.7 million sterling), DCC said in a statement.

Tommy Breen, DCC chief executive said today DCC Energy is one of the leading fuel card sales and marketing businesses in Britain selling approximately 270 million litres of fuel per annum.

At 1.30pm shares in DCC were 1 per cent higher at €10.72.
