A claim for €38,000 in damages for a four-year-old child for injuries sustained in February 2009, when he jumped on a clothes rack in Dunnes at Lucan shopping centre, has been rejected.

Shane English, for Dunnes, said in the Circuit Civil Court that there was no action the company could have taken that would have prevented any injury to Aaron Rea.

Judge Jacqueline Linnane said she was satisfied from CCTV footage that Aaron had fallen because he was not looking where he was going.
