DaimlerChrysler is looking to cut up to 750 jobs at its Mercedes parts plant in Stuttgart-Untertuerkheim, the Stuttgarter Nachrichtenreported.

The company aims to implement the layoffs via a programme of voluntary redundancies, the newspaper quoted Mercedes works council sources as saying.

DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche refused to rule out minor job cuts earlier this month following on from the €5.5 billion sale of 80 per cent of Chrysler to private equity firm Cerberus.
