The first luxury cruise vessel to arrive at the port of Foynes, Co Limerick, in a new drive to promote this type of trade, docked yesterday from Edinburgh.
It was the 3,058-tonne MV Caledonian Star registered in the Bahamas. It has a crew of 75 and 63 passengers, mainly Scottish golfing enthusiasts who spent the day in Ballybunion. The others visited the tourist attractions in Clare and Limerick.
