Zagreb - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman died in hospital after six weeks of treatment for abdominal disorders, state television said this morning. The television broke into its regular programmes at 2 a.m. (1 a.m. Irish time) to announce his death in a brief statement. He was aged 77 and was said to have been fighting cancer since late 1996.
