Gardaí seize €260,000 in cash during Dublin searches

Two men and a woman arrested after money found in cars and a house in Clonsilla

Gardaí have seized €260,000 in cash after two search operations in Dublin.

Officers from the drugs and organised crime unit discovered €160,000 in cash when they stopped and searched two cars in the Blanchardstown area on Saturday.

Two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 40s, were arrested at the scene. They are being detained at Blanchardstown Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In a related operation, gardaí searched two houses in the Clonsilla and Neilstown areas. They discovered a further €100,000 in cash in the house in Clonsilla.

A woman in her 30s was arrested and brought to Blanchardstown Garda station where she was questioned under the provisions of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

She has now been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
