Gardaí have issued a new appeal for information in relation to missing Corkwoman, Tina Satchwell as her husband Richard prepares to mark the second anniversary of her disappearance.

Supt Colm Noonan of Midleton Garda Station, who is heading up the investigation into the disappearance of Ms Satchwell (47) from her home in Youghal on March 20th 2016, confirmed that gardaí have been liaising closely with Interpol in a bid to find her.

“We would have received around five or six reports of sightings of Tina Satchwell from people who believed that they had seen her abroad and all of those have been followed up through Interpol with the various foreign police forces and all have come back as negative,” he said.

Supt Noonan said gardaí had followed up on around 16 reported sightings of Ms Satchwell in various locations in Ireland but they had similarly proved negative.

Gardaí have used CCTV footage in some cases to establish that the person thought to be Ms Satchwell was not her.

“It’s two years since Tina Satchwell disappeared –she hasn’t had access to any funding so somebody must know something about her and we’re appealing to anyone who has any information at all that can assist us to contact us in confidence,” he added.

In a statement, the Garda press office said the investigation into Ms Satchwell’s disappearance had led to more than 330 separate lines of enquiry being conducted, including liaison with international police forces.

The Garda, assisted by the Defence Forces, has previously conducted searches in the Youghal area and at Mitchel’s Wood, Bridgetown, Castlemartyr in connection with the investigation.

More than 100 hours of CCTV has been viewed and in excess of 100 statements have been taken to date. Gardaí in Midleton have been assisted by specialist garda units including the Garda Air Support Unit, Garda Water Unit and Garda Dog Unit.

Gardaí are appealing for anybody with information to contact Midleton Garda Station on 021 – 4621550, the Garda Confidential line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Ms Satchwell is described as 5ft 7ins, of medium build with blonde shoulder length hair and blue eyes.
