Five men detained following investigation into smart phone robberies in December

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a series of mobile phone robberies in Dublin city centre last month from a group of teenage boys .

Five young men, including three juveniles, were arrested yesterday morning as part of a planned search in the Fairview, Finglas and Rathcoole areas of Dublin. All five were detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street and Irishtown Garda Stations.

One of the adult males was later released without charge, while the second has been charged and released on bail to appear at a future date.

The three juveniles have been charged and are scheduled to appear in the Children’s Court in Smithfield, Dublin this morning.
