Fianna Fáil senator’s drink-driving case adjourned

Brian Ó Domhnail facing number of road traffic charges

A case of alleged drink-driving against Donegal Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has been adjourned.

The Fianna Fáil politician, who did not appear in court, faces a number of charges related to an incident alleged to have happened at Tullygay outside Letterkenny on September 2nd, 2013.

These include drink-driving, failing to report an occurrence, failing to remain at the scene and failing to give appropriate information.

Senator Ó Domhnaill's solicitor John Canon addressed the court in Irish.

He asked to have the case put back “to sees where it stands and to mention it.”

Judge Paul Kelly, who also addressed the court in Irish, agreed.

The case against Senator Ó Domhnaill (37), of Killult, Falcarragh was put back until February 19th.
