Woman found dead in her flat on St Stephen’s Day named locally as Deborah ‘Debbie’ Holmes

A woman who was found dead in her flat in Rathmines, south Dublin, on St Stephen’s Day died of natural causes, postmortem results have confirmed.

The body of the woman, named locally as Deborah "Debbie" Holmes who was aged in her 40s, was found in her first-floor flat on Rathmines Avenue in Dublin 6 shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday.

Gardaí initially said that they would be “investigating all of the circumstances” surrounding the discovery of the woman’s body. However, postmortem results indicate there was no foul-play involved in the death.

The head injuries suffered by the deceased are now thought to have been caused by a trip or fall.
