The barrister conducting the Government inquiry into the Irish Amateur Swimming Association's affairs asked the High Court yesterday to lift an order which has delayed the completion of his report.
Last week Mr Michael McCann, former president of the Kings Hospital Swimming Club, Palmerstown, Dublin, secured a temporary order from the court which had the effect of delaying the delivery of the report to the Minister for Sport, Dr McDaid.
Mr McCann had also been granted leave to seek a judicial review of the report. The report has been prepared by Dr Roderick Murphy SC, who is conducting the inquiry.
As it was an urgent matter, Mr Justice McCracken said he would provisionally fix next Tuesday for the hearing of Mr McCann's judicial review application and the hearing of Dr Murphy's application to lift the restraint order.
