Nine urban councillors in Arklow, Co Wicklow, have saved the town's Seabreeze Festival after the hugely popular pig derby races had to be dropped this year because of foot-and-mouth disease.
The councillors have agreed to take the place of the pigs on Friday night and do the trotting up the town's Main Street.
With the councillors expected to step out dressed as Miss Piggies, Friday night's replacement race promises to be as hilarious as the real thing.
