The Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly president, Lord Russell-Johnston, and secretary-general, Mr Walter Schwimmer, yesterday expressed their satisfaction and full support for the developments in the peace process.
"The people of Northern Ireland demand peace. They had clearly said so in their massive support for the peace agreement in the May 1998 referendum," they said.
