Anglo-Dutch steel and aluminium company Corus Group will adjourn an extraordinary shareholders' meeting to allow Brazilian steelmaker CSN more time to consider a bid.

Corus, Europe's third-largest steel maker, said it would adjourn the December 4th EGM to December 20th.

The shareholders of Anglo-Dutch Corus had been due to vote on a bid by India's Tata Steel. But Tata Steel has seen its agreed bid for Corus topped by an $8 billion counter offer from Companhia Siderurgica Nacional.

CSN's boss said on Friday the Brazilian steelmaker would like to be in a position to make a formal bid for Corus before December 4th.
