Cork man gets 14 years in jail for rape

A Cork man has been jailed for 14 years for raping a 25-year-old woman three years ago.

A Cork man has been jailed for 14 years for raping a 25-year-old woman three years ago.

Patrick O'Driscoll (35) with an address in the Traveller camp at the Coombe, Glenville in Co Cork, was today found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict.

O'Driscoll committed the offence in September 2000, shortly after he was released follwing nine year term in jail for rape in 1991.

O'Driscoll was also placed on the sex offenders register.
