It is just as well the racing at Listowel finishes before All-Ireland Football Final day or the roads of the Kingdom would be groaning with traffic.
The Listowel Racing Festival continues today and traffic has been very busy around the racecourse car parks, according to AA Roadwatch.
The last race of the festival is shortly after 6pm tomorrow and is expected to put the Tralee Road under pressure.
Luckily, the inward traffic should be well cleared in time for the mass exodus to Dublin on Sunday morning for the match at Croke Park.
Cork roads too will be burdened as supporters travel to take on their neighbouring rivals.
Throw-in time is 3.30pm so traffic delays can be expected from early afternoon as supporters scramble for parking in and around the stadium.
Those attending the Armagh and Mayo minor game may be luckier with parking spots, although traffic restrictions on surrounding roads will be in place from early morning.
Early birds may catch all-day parking for €5 or €6 in city centre car parks.
Iarnród Éireann will also be providing additional trains on Sunday morning from Tralee, Killarney, Mallow and Cork to take the pain out of the commute.
Those on the roads may encounter some delays due to national cycling event, Race Around Ireland.
The race began on Tuesday in Navan and is expected to finish there on Sunday evening. Some 13 teams and 15 soloists may be spotted on approach roads in the Dublin, Kildare and Meath areas on Sunday.
The Limerick Pride festival will also come to a close on Sunday, but tomorrow is likely to be its busiest day. The city centre will be closed to traffic in various places from 1pm to 6pm to facilitate the parade, which begins at 1.45pm.
An alternative parade will be hosted in Athy, Co Kildare tomorrow, as part of the build-up to the National Ploughing Championships, to be hosted there next week.
Rose of Tralee Charmaine Kenny, accompanied by Kildare Rose Erica Kelly, will parade through Athy at around 7:30pm. The area will be closed to traffic for the parade.
For those not attending Croke Park on Sunday afternoon or watching the match on TV, the town of Stoneyford in Kilkenny could make an interesting destination. A large crowd is expected at the Stoneyford Community Centre where a piece of St Padre Pio’s beard will be on display from 1pm to 5pm.
