Store score:Back when price comparison tables were a regular feature on this page, Joyce's supermarket in Galway frequently beat the big boys on price.

The owner, Pat Joyce, contacted us last week to make the point that “there are lots of retailers in the country actually giving good value for money”. To prove his point, he sent us brochures from the store offering branded products, including Kerrygold, Domestos and Wolf Blass wine, for a lot less than the major chains.
