THE Government has announced the establishment of a Western Development Commission to promote the economic and social development of the region.
The seven members are Mr Sean Tighe, chairman of Clubman Omega Ltd; Mr Pat McDonagh, a businessman; Ms Janet Hughes of SIPTU; Mr Peadar O Tuathail, a councillor and member of the West Regional Authority; Ms Lisa McAllister of the Council for the West; Mr Michael McLoone, Donegal County Manager, and Ms Mary Butler of the Department of the Taoiseach.
