Gardaí seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €200,000 in Drogheda, Co Louth, yesterday evening.

A woman (28) was arrested during the seizure in a house in Brayanstown Manor on the south side of the town.

The drugs were found during a planned search of the house at about 4.30pm carried out by gardaí and Customs and Excise officers. It is believed the drugs arrived by post or courier to the address from a West African country.

The woman, who is a west African national, was taken to Donnybrook Garda Station, Dublin, where she is being questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
